We Believe
Core Foundations: What We Believe
At Healthy Living, our work is not merely a practice; it is a ministry rooted in the foundational truths of the Bible. All of our teaching and ministry flows out of these biblical doctrines.
Our Primary Convictions
The Ministry of Love: We believe true ministry flows from His (Agape) love, without which we have no right to claim ourselves a Christian. We remain yielded to the Holy Spirit to direct our ministry.
The Authority of Scripture: We believe the Bible is God’s Holy Word—verbally and fully inspired—and is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
The One True God: We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
The Person of Jesus Christ: We believe in the divine, eternal, and only begotten Son of God. We believe in His virgin birth, His sinless life, His atoning death, His bodily resurrection, His ascension to the Father, and His personal, visible return in power and glory.
The Holy Spirit: We believe He was sent forth from the Father to indwell, sanctify, instruct, and comfort the saints.
The Grace of Salvation: We believe that all men are, by nature, sinners destitute of power to save themselves. The only means of salvation is through the grace of Jesus Christ.
The Great Commission: We believe all Christians are ordained by the Holy Spirit to spread the Gospel and to minister to others according to the gifts they have received.
In-Depth Tenets of Faith
The Holy Spirit and His Baptism
The Holy Spirit is co-equal, co-eternal, and co-existent with the Father and the Son. The baptism of the Holy Spirit and Fire is a gift promised by the Lord Jesus to all believers and is received subsequent to the New Birth. This experience is accompanied by the initial evidence of speaking with other tongues (Acts 2) and provides the power to be witnesses.
Matthew 3:11 | John 14:16-17 | Acts 1:8 | Acts 2
The Redemption of Man
Man was made in the likeness and image of God, but through Adam's transgression, sin passed upon all men. Jesus Christ was manifested to undo the work of the devil and shed His blood to redeem and restore man back to God. Salvation is a free gift, separate from works and the Law, made operative by grace through faith.
Romans 5:12-21 | Romans 10:9-10 | I John 3:8
Further Works of Redemption
The resurrection of Jesus Christ secured redemption for the whole man:
Redemption from Sickness: Divine Healing is provided for by the Atonement for the physical ills of the human body.
Redemption from Poverty: Divine Prosperity (financial provision and the prospering of the soul) is provided by the Atonement through the principles of tithes, offerings, and sowing and reaping.
Isaiah 53:4-5 | II Corinthians 8:9 | III John 2
Eternal Retribution and Hell
We believe in the reality of Eternal Retribution. The person who physically dies in his sins without accepting Christ is hopelessly and eternally lost in the Lake of Fire, and therefore, has no further opportunity of hearing the Gospel or repenting. The Lake of Fire is literal. The terms "eternal" and "everlasting," used in describing the duration of the punishment of the damned in the Lake of Fire, carry the same thought and meaning of endless existence as used in denoting the duration of joy and ecstasy of saints in the Presence of God.
Hebrews 9:27 | Revelation 19:20 | Matthew 25:41-46
The End of All Things (The Blessed Hope)
We believe in the personal and imminent return of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We look forward to the Resurrection of the Just and the catching away of the saints to meet the Lord in the air. Following the Tribulation, Jesus shall return to earth as King of kings, and Lord of lords, and together with His saints, who shall be kings and priests, He shall reign a thousand years.
I Thessalonians 4:13-17 | Revelation 20:1-6 | Acts 1:11
Sanctification
The Bible teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord. We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return.
Hebrews 12:14 | I Thessalonians 5:23 | II Peter 3:18
